BMW iPerformance design elements refer to aerodynamic features, signature styling cues, and integrated performance components that define the brand’s cutting-edge aesthetic. Deletion involves removing or simplifying these elements to enhance efficiency, reduce drag, or update visual appeal. This process requires precision to preserve the model’s signature look while achieving functional improvements.

Deletion is often driven by aerodynamic optimization, where redundant spoilers or vents are removed to boost range and stability. It may also respond to regulatory standards or consumer feedback, streamlining interfaces for a cleaner, more modern profile. While preserving brand identity, strategic removal supports innovation and long-term market relevance.

The Canadian version of the BMW 745e xDrive iPerformance is known for its "Without Exterior Lines Designation" option, which deletes gloss black elements and replaces them with body. But similarly, that option was always included with the M Sport Package (ZMP) and listed as STD for M50. I feel like the appearance of "Design element deletion" in the Standard Features section on the tracker doesn't reflect any change, but is only now showing something which was always there.

I just noticed on the configurator that the 3DE option for model specific design elements (basically the frozen grey that deletes all the blue accents) has disappeared. I've just put my order in through my company car scheme for the Pro but it hasn't been finalised by BMW. Should I be worried? I absolutely HATE the blue accents.
What is the "BMW Performance Design elements deletion" option? Does anyone know what this option is? "BMW Performance Design elements deletion" It is listed in the USA market press release as a standalone option. I am very curious. I have not seen it in any of the English speaking configurators (can't speak for German or others).
Don't forget the "BMW iPerformance Design Elements Deletion" "This option removes the anodized blue kidney slats and wheel hub covers from the selected package." My next German car is three to five years away. But, if I was buying one today the short list would be: 230i, M2C, Carrera S. Can I still make changes to the order?
