University Housing offers designated housing for students participating in a Residential Learning Community (RLC) or the Honors College based on availability. As mentioned above, living on campus is not required or guaranteed to first year students; however, many incoming students live in Auburn's residence halls their first year. The Honors College is a place where you can honor your dreams.

University Housing hosts several special interest communities across campus. Honors College members can request to live with other members in Honors College halls in the Quad and Village.

Residential Learning Communities based on similar interests or academics are in the Quad and Village. The Village Community is home to approximately 1500 undergraduate students in eight residence halls. Members of Auburn's Panhellenic sororities live in Magnolia, Oak, and Leischuck Halls.

Plainsman Hall residents are all female and the other four coed halls are home to freshmen students. Most Village suites are configured with four single bedrooms, two bathrooms and a common living/dining. Keeping with tradition at Auburn University, we ensure and oversee the practice of having our Panhellenic sororities live on campus with their individual halls and chapter rooms.

Additionally, we also provided specific residence halls for all of our Honors College residents and still provided gender separated buildings in each area. Housing Student Portal Additional Housing Options 24 Residence Halls in seven communities. Rates are per student per semester and include all utilities (i.e., wireless internet, and laundry).

There is limited availability of single rooms in the Quad and Hill; one, two, and three bedroom suites in the Village; and four bedroom suites in South Donahue. The Honors College is located in historic Katharine Cooper Cater Hall, in the center of the Auburn University campus. For detailed instructions on our location, please view the university map.

Residential Learning Communities During the 2025-26 academic year, Auburn University will offer three Residential Learning Communities (RLC) options for students living on campus. Residential Learning Communities are available to first-year students in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering and the Discover Auburn: Out of State RLC.
