SubSense is a browser extension that helps Reddit users create better posts by providing AI-powered analysis and suggestions. This privacy policy explains how SubSense handles your data.

Data We Do NOT Collect

SubSense does not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your API keys (stored locally in your browser only)
• Your Reddit username or account information
• Your browsing history or Reddit activity
• The content of your posts or drafts
• Any personal information
• Analytics or usage tracking data

How Your Data is Handled

API Keys

When you configure SubSense with an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, the key is:

• Stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API
• Never transmitted to SubSense servers (we don't have any)
• Only used to communicate directly with your chosen AI provider
• Deletable at any time through the extension settings

AI Analysis Requests

When you request an AI analysis or draft check:

• Data is sent directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google)
• No data passes through SubSense servers
• Analysis results are cached locally in your browser for performance
• Cached data can be cleared at any time

Reddit Data

SubSense reads publicly available Reddit data (subreddit rules, recent posts) to provide analysis. This data is:

• Fetched directly from Reddit's public API
• Processed locally in your browser
• Never stored on external servers

Third-Party Services

SubSense integrates with the following third-party AI providers. When you use these services, their respective privacy policies apply:

• OpenAI Privacy Policy
• Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Google Privacy Policy

We recommend reviewing these policies to understand how your data is handled when using their AI services.

Local Storage

SubSense stores the following data locally in your browser:

• Settings: Your extension preferences (theme, enabled state)
• API Configuration: Your chosen AI provider and API key
• Cache: Temporary analysis results to improve performance

All local data can be cleared by removing the extension or clearing browser data.

No Tracking

SubSense does not include:

• Analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Advertising trackers
• User behavior tracking
• Crash reporting services

Children's Privacy

SubSense is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
