Version 0.4.0, November 10, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
Our engineering team is working diligently to make Superlist super stable and super fast. To that end, we’re updating our data structure and shipping backend updates that will make synchronization more reliable today and lay the foundation for offline support in the future.
Version 0.3.12, October 26, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
We’re continuing our work on stability improvements and performance tweaks for Superlist on Mac. This version addresses some deep-rooted issues that can cause tasks in lists or list titles in your sidebar to vanish. Over the next few weeks, we’ll prioritize this work in an effort to make Superlist even faster and more stable.
We also made some changes to the way Superlist looks by improving the spacing and layout between task rows and text elements in lists.
Version 0.3.11, October 12, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
There are no visible changes this week, but there’s plenty going on behind the scenes. Since our last release, we’ve continued working on the foundation for our mobile apps. We’ve also improved backend error handling, fixed a few bugs related to product analytics, and updated some of the third-party libraries we rely on.
Version 0.3.10, September 30, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
In the past two weeks, we turned our attention inward and focused primarily on under the hood improvements to the app. In addition to a few bug fixes to keep Superlist running smoothly, we are laying the groundwork for new features and the forthcoming web and mobile versions.
Version 0.3.8, September 14, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
Superlist's ability to detect if a user is online or offline has been improved, and we fixed issues where VPNs or certain IPs were blocked on local networks.
We continued improving keyboard navigation in the app. If you have a task selected in a list, pressing Command-Return will open the task's details. When pressing Tab in the task details, the cursor then jumps through the individual editable elements. You can also use Tab to indent bulleted lists further.
We fixed an issue with continuous task creation in My Tasks. Now, you can create multiple tasks by typing and pressing Return, without having to reselect the input field for each new task.
Superlist now has a Figma integration. You can enable it in Settings > Integrations to automatically turn comments on Figma files into tasks. There's also a new widget for managing your tasks directly in Figma. Please try it out and let us know what you think. Note that you first need to connect your Figma account in Superlist for the widget to work.
Version 0.3.7.1, September 10, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
This update fixes an issue with signing in to an account. Logging in should now work fine again.
Version 0.3.7, August 31, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
You wanted it darker, and we’ve got good news. If our regular dark theme isn’t dark enough for you, we now have a new theme: blackout. Go to Settings > Features > Appearance to enable it.
Additionally, this version introduces the ability to use Command-Z for undoing specific changes within a list — for example, if you accidentally deleted content in a list you created or in a task’s detail view.
Finally, the way the names of lists are displayed in the sidebar is improved. Now, lists with long titles will show more characters instead of cutting them off earlier.
Version 0.3.6, August 17, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
This version includes various fixes that improve overall performance and collaboration. Additionally:
- It's now possible to drag items into lists in the Last viewed lists section of the sidebar.
- When the Detail View of a task is open, or if you’re in Settings, pressing the Escape key returns you to the previous view.
- We fixed an issue where the title of a named list sometimes reverted to the default name (Untitled list).
- When checking off subtasks, the subtask indicator underneath the parent task now updates correctly to reflect how many subtasks are complete.
Version 0.3.5, August 3, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
In this version, we did some work under the hood fixing small bugs, making collaboration more reliable, polishing appearance, and improving functionality in lists.
Additionally:
- Messages now contain timestamps, which indicate the time a message was written.
- It’s now possible to change a list icon when clicking on it directly in the sidebar.
- A new keyboard shortcut, Command-3, enables you to seamlessly open the All Lists view.
Version 0.3.4, July 6, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
- We added a Help menu, which you can access by clicking the question mark icon in the top-left corner of Superlist. From here, you can report issues, send feature requests, and join our Slack community. There are also direct links to our Help Center and a list of in-app keyboard shortcuts.
- When collaborating on a list in real time, the list will no longer flash when more than one person is typing.
- Clicking on a push notification now brings Superlist to the foreground.
- We fixed an issue where users had trouble inserting new text in a list. Before, they had to double-click on the hovering blue line. Now, a single click works as intended.
- Message notifications are now fixed, so you’ll see all your messages both on the Messages overview page and within individual tasks.
Version 0.3.3, June 22, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
- It’s now possible to customize lists by clicking on the list’s Settings, where you can choose an emoji and upload a cover image.
- To mark all messages on a specific task as read, click on Messages in the sidebar, right-click on the message thread in question, and select Mark as read.
- To copy a link to a list, click on the list, find the three-dot menu in the top corner, click on it, and select Copy link.
Version 0.3.2, June 8, 2022
Here’s what’s new:
- It’s now possible to copy and paste text in lists and task details.
- You can upload images to change the default cover image of a list.

- We made some small design improvements.
Version 0.3.1, May 25, 2022
Here's what's new:
Today we’re releasing our newest version of
Superlist — featuring a fresh, new design.
Our goal for the redesign was to make it
more modern and innovative, with slick
animations and an improved card layout that
lets you navigate through subtasks by
scrolling sideways. At the same time, we
also worked hard to make the app feel more
“Superlist-y,” and we hope that this comes
across in the way it looks and feels.
Version 0.1.34, March 30, 2022
Here's what's new:
- Using the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to move through a list now works more reliably.
- Selecting text and pressing Escape no longer accidentally deletes content.
- Similarly, pressing Shift-Up Arrow or Shift-Down Arrow no longer accidentally deletes content.
- We fixed the sort order of tasks in the Done list, and the most recently completed tasks now appear at the top of the list.
- Pressing Command-Return while creating a new task in My Tasks will open the task details view on the right side of the app.
Version 0.1.33, March 23, 2022
Here's what's new:
Menubar App
- You can now make My Tasks float. When clicking the Superlist menubar icon, drag the window to detach your task list. Then, right-click the menubar icon and select “Keep Mini List in Front.” You can right-click and deselect it to remove the ability to float.
- If you have tasks with a source in My Tasks (like Slack), they will automatically appear at the top of the list when the related app is in the foreground.
More Improvements
- If you’ve enabled the “Last viewed lists” section in the sidebar (via Account Settings > Features), you can now use it as a drop target for moving tasks. Lists in this section now also have the right-click menu.
Version 0.1.32, March 17, 2022
Here's what's new:
- We fixed a few issues regarding real-time synchronization on the desktop app.
- CMD+Enter will now open the task details if you have a task selected. ESC will close task details again.
- The setting to hide completed tasks after marking them as done now also applies to My Tasks.
- File attachments can now be uploaded within each task. Hit the + button, or drag a file from your desktop into the task details to upload them.
Version 0.1.31, March 09, 2022
Here's what's new:
- Many people asked us to allow switching between Dark Mode and Light Mode, independently from System Preferences. This is now possible in the new Features Tab in Settings.
- You can also decide how long you want to see completed tasks on your lists. Chose to hide them immediately or after a specific timeframe.
- Another option in Settings is to enable a “Last viewed lists” section in your sidebar for quick navigation to your most important lists.
- When clicking on the Superlist menubar icon, you can now see your top 5 overdue or due tasks from My Tasks. This gives you access to your most important tasks without opening the main app window.
Version 0.1.30, March 01, 2022
Here's what's new:
- In My Tasks, All Tasks, and Sent Tasks, you can see which list a task belongs to. You can also drag tasks to any list in the sidebar to change which list they are in.
- Track which app you create a task from. When you use our Quick Create menu (Shift+Option+Space) while you have another app in the foreground, this information will get added to the new task. You can also easily remove the linked app if you don’t wish to connect this information to the task.
Version 0.1.29, February 23, 2022
Here's what's new:
- Move tasks up or down to better understand what you want to work on next. You can now rearrange tasks in My Tasks if no sort order is selected. If you have sorted My Tasks alphabetically, by due date, creation date, or task creator, rearranging tasks within the list is deactivated.
- We also show the little content indicator on the right side of a task in every list now if that task has additional content in its details.
Version 0.1.28, February 17, 2022
Here's what's new:
- New Settings: We have refactored the Settings page, which you can open by clicking on the profile picture. In there, you can find options to change profile picture and name, as well as configurable connections with Gmail, Slack, and GitHub.
- When you enable our integrations, you can create tasks by starring an email in Gmail, by right-clicking on Slack Messages, or automatically whenever a GitHub Pull Request is assigned to you.
- We also fixed a few annoying bugs in several areas, such as selecting and deleting multiple tasks within a list.
Version 0.1.27, February 08, 2022
A lot happened this week (something about Luke Skywalker and Mitski/'s new album) and a lot of behind-the-scenes work in the Superlist app. We did some fine-tuning under the hood and are still working hard on some bigger releases. So keep the feedback coming and let us know if you run into any bugs.
Version 0.1.26, February 02, 2022
Here's what's new:
- You might notice a whole lot of improved text throughout the app. We think it/`s due to letting an actual UX Writer work on it.
- Now all tasks created with quick commands that are not assigned to someone else are assigned to you by default. We also made some small cosmetic adjustments to @mentions.
- Some Superlist app naming issues throughout MacOS. For example, sometimes it/'d show /"App/" instead of /"Superlist/" in the menu bar. We are definitely not just an “Appâ€.
- We also updated the look of the Report Problem screen (under Help > Report Problem in the menubar). We hope you don/"t have to go there too often!
- And some smaller visual adjustments to the interface and new tooltips.

- The message field has been extended beyond two lines for longer messages. So unleash your inner Tolstoy.

Here's what's new:
- An actual button in the sidebar for creating sections. Yes, it’s that nice, new plus icon.

Version 0.1.22, December 21, 2021
Here's what's new:
- New: Our "quick create". Hit Shift+Option+Space, and a new popup will appear where you can create and assign new tasks and Asks. That way, you're always three keys away from creating a task (now that's productive). You can add a label with # or assign the task by typing @.
- New: Instead of gambling a click to see if there's content inside a task, we added a little graphic that tells you so. Only available in My Tasks, Sent Tasks, and All Tasks but it'll make its way to all list views soon.
- Filtering under All Tasks, now more reliable, especially if selecting more than one filter.
- Improved: The Messages section in the sidebar looks better. Yes, that's design. We also added an empty state!
- Debugged: A task title-deleting issue squashed and some funky cursor behavior tamed.
Version 0.1.21, December 14 2021

Version 0.1.18, November 25, 2021
Make your lists more than just tasks
While tasks are the core of Superlist, you can also turn your lists into proper documents with text formatting options, images, and clickable links. You can even add some extra flavor to your list with a custom header image or emoji, too.
Detail View gets more detailed
All formatting options are also available inside of every task! You can easily create subtasks or include detailed descriptions in the task's Detail View. It also now lets you chat for easy communication with collaborators.
Never lose a task again
You'll find all your assigned tasks in My Tasks or any other task in All Tasks. All your sent and received messages are right there in the Messages view.
Keep your sidebar tidy by right-clicking, creating a section, and dragging a list there. And if you want to clean up even more, you can also right-click to remove a list. You'll find it again in the All Lists view.
