Material: Florentine vacchetta leather. A thicker high quality leather with beautiful grain and texture. The color will vary depending upon the kind of leather, but in general, I believe the elephant is a grey with brown undertones.

So depending upon the lighting, it could look more grey or more a mix of brown and grey (which some call taupe). To me, a true taupe is a mix of grey and bone, but Dooney taupes over the last few years have been dark and very brown. A large Dooney & Bourke shoulder bag.

The main color is elephant in a pebbled leather, a gray brown and has accents of brown in a smooth leather. The handles and the shoulder strap match the brown smoother leather. Both sets of straps are adjustable and removable.

The bag has a large zipper closure. The inside is the class red, one side has two small open pockets and the other has a zipper. However, not all elephants are created equal and neither is the Dooney color "elephant." I have seen it looking more grey in pebble and more like taupe in Toscana.

I don't know if that's the case in Florentine. It changes depending upon type of leather and line. I just wish they wouldn't keep switching names for the same color.
