Each year, the Coronado Recreation and Golf Services Department partners with the Coronado Junior Woman's Club to host the Turkey Coloring Contest for elementary school students across the community. Three winners (first, second, and third place) were selected for each age group and invited to the Coronado City Council meeting on November 18, where their art was recognized, and council. Our spirited turkey is off on another thrill-seeking adventure! This year's contest has the same rules as years past, but with an amusement park scene for our feathered friend.

The City of Coronado's Recreation & Golf Services annual Turkey Coloring Contest began on October 1 through November 1. Children could submit an entry for the coloring contest, sponsored by the Coronado Junior Woman's Club. This holiday tradition provides the opportunity for local elementary school children in kindergarten through fifth grade to compose their colorful Thanksgiving masterpieces.
