Before Event Day, familiarise yourself with the route and what's on offer, from toilets to pacers. Bath Half 2025 Training is a collection of 3 routes between 4.43 miles and 12.02 miles in length, mapped and shared on the route planning website plotaroute.com. The Two Tunnels Half Marathon is an historic half marathon taking in famous features of Bath on this flat and fast course through Bath city centre and surrounding countryside.
New to the Bath Half in 2025 is the inclusion of British Athletics trial races for the World Road Running Championships Half Marathon, which has attracted some of the country's top endurance. The Bath Half Marathon is the UK's longest underground half marathon as is set in and around the World Heritage City of Bath. The route incorporates two wonderful 1/4 mile and 1 mile long old converted railway tunnels under the city of Bath.
Although many would consider Bath to be hilly, this course is fast and flat, avoiding all of the hills surrounding Bath. The route straddles the Avon and is on completely closed roads. The first mile is a gentle downhill, followed by two laps after Churchill Bridge.
From there, the road is gently rolling up to the beginning of the dual carriageway. Finally, we cross the start line and the 2025 Bath Half is on. The vague black archway in the distance is the starting line.
The route around Bath is a pretty good loop. We start by running downhill and heading past Royal Victoria Park, then out toward the dual carriageway heading to Bristol, before turning back and entering the city again.
