The iCASS Platform

To successfully achieve these objectives, conservation and natural resource practitioners need a paradigm that transcends single-institution interests and decision-making processes. We propose a platform for an emerging and evolutionary step change in sustainability planning: landscape conservation design (LCD).

Our framework can be used to make management decisions that balance outcomes against multiple (potentially competing) goals, for example the conservation of species, ecosystem services, and production. To demonstrate the framework's utility, we apply it to three different landscape types: urban, forestry and agriculture.
