Breast Augmentation in Tampa Florida
Implants are inserted during a breast augmentation treatment to improve the size and shape of the breasts. A figure that is more in line with their bodies is something that many women aspire to. Women who have had children frequently desire breasts that look more youthful and refreshed. Another way to correct an unbalanced appearance is with breast implants. Breast augmentation is a cosmetic operation in which cohesive gel or saline-filled implants are positioned in front or behind the chest muscle. For improved breast renewal, this operation may be paired with a mastopexy (breast lift).
Because every woman is unique, it is determined by taking into account her specific characteristics which implant will have the desired effects on her body. The majority of breast implants are comprised of a thin, solid silicone shell, however they can vary in size and shape. To lessen the possibility of scarring forming around the implant, the shell surface may be textured. Softer and typically less likely to be felt through the skin are smooth implants. To help you choose the implant that is best for you, Dr. Ruas will go over your options with you. How is the procedure carried out? For the procedure, general anesthesia is employed. A cut is made in one of three locations: Periareolar - covering the area around the nipple where the black skin terminates to conceal the scar. Infra-mammary fold: the crease under your breast that conceals the scar beneath it and in the fold. Axillary: in the armpit, where a crease conceals the scar. One method might be better suited to your anatomy than another. You will talk about this with your surgeon. After being inflated with saline and being positioned either in front of or behind the pectoralis muscle, the implant is then stitched up. Typically, the surgery is completed without hospitalization. How long does it take to recover? In 24-48 hours, most patients can resume their regular activities with certain limitations. For the first 24 hours, you'll need someone to be with you. Patients can typically resume their jobs in 5-7 days with some restrictions on their physical activity. Painkillers will be supplied to you. Drains aren't employed. The edema doesn't totally go down for a few weeks. Call (813) 259-1550 right away to schedule a breast augmentation with board-certified plastic surgeon Ernesto J. Ruas MD FACS in Tampa, Florida.
