Walk In Bath Reddit

We are remodeling a guest bathroom and need to replace the tub. We thought a walk-in tub would be great for older guests and/or ourselves if we ever lose our mobility, but we've not had any experience with walk-ins and tbh I can't imagine they don't leak. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks for any advice!

Any issues with sitting in the tub while you wait for it to fill or drain? I would love a walk in tub with the whirlpool jets and a shower head inside. I tend to shower after my baths because I don't feel you can get really clean sitting in a tub.

I would sit in the tub with the jets going, let it drain partway, then start the shower to wash my hair. Also, if I were house shopping and came across a place with a walk in tub, that'd move it pretty high up the list. I just moved to a house that has a gorgeous walk-in shower in the master suite and a standard depth tub/shower combo in the hall bath and obviously none of that works for soaking.
