The three-day event took place in Green Bay, Wisconsin at the Oneida Casino Hotel complex on Friday and Saturday, and at Pamerin Park on Sunday.
The Sängerfest kicked off with a Friday fish-fry dinner followed by a dance featuring the Sugar Bush Boys band in the Wolf Room of the casino hotel. Saturday's activities began with a concert rehearsal for the district singers in the morning and a tour of the legendary Green Bay Packers football stadium, Lambeau Field.
The Saturday concert began a 4:00 PM with a parade of flags and singing of the national anthems of Germany and the United States of America. The Wisconsin Sängerbezirk singers started the concert portion of the evening followed by the Vereinigte Deutsch-Amerikanische Chöre of the Chicago District. After the individual district performances the singers of the two districts joined together for a grand Gemishterchöre vocal presentation to conclude the concert. Then dinner was served and the dancing kicked in once again to the music of the Sugar Bush Boys band.
Sängerfest Sunday featured a mid-day picnic in Pamperin Park a few miles from the Oneida Casino Hotel.
People came to sing and to have fun ... and they sure did!
