Tiger Income Strategy
Chlebina Capital has historically focused on the “Tiger Strategy,” which is an aggressive industry based value investment process that offers a high risk/reward profile. The volatility that has become increasingly apparent in the market has created the need for less aggressive strategies to compliment the Tiger Strategy. We have constructed a strategy that fits into the “Growth & Income” portion of our “Integrated Tiger Strategy” simply called the “Tiger Income Strategy”.
The Tiger Income Strategy is one of our proprietary methods of investing, which has a growth & income risk/reward tolerance. This strategy invests between 50% to 60% in equities as the growth portion of the strategy, while investing 40% to 50% into fixed income based securities and money market funds for the income portion of the strategy. The equity investments seek out value opportunities in industries that are at extreme cyclical or economic lows.
The Tiger Income Strategy attempts to obtain returns similar to the S&P 500 in positive years, while still providing some protection from volatility during the down years.
This strategy has been developed to have less volatility than the Tiger Strategy, and as such, is not anticipated to have as much upside potential or downside risk. The intent of this strategy is to achieve some growth while also offering some income.
The Tiger Income Strategy is a growth & income strategy, which is applicable for the portion of the clients funds that the client deems appropriate. The moderate approach used in this strategy can result in volatility, and as such is somewhat exposed to upturns and downturns in the market. Investors with an intermediate time horizon who are looking for some growth of principal over time as well as income, and who can accept a moderate amount of stock market volatility may wish to consider the Tiger Income Strategy.
