How You Can Help

We have many events coming up this fall: KidZone, Barbecue, Christmas Market,  to name a few. See Nancy to claim your volunteer opportunity.

Partnering with Broadway Kids

As part of our community outreach, we partner with Broadway Kids to provide lunch group supervision during snack-time, and assist in hosting the end-of-session "Show Case".

This is another opportunity to serve, even if you can only commit to an hour.

See Nancy for details.

About "Spiritual Gifts"

Spiritual gifts are special abilities bestowed upon believers by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of serving God and growing His Kingdom on earth. These are not natural talents or skills, but rather supernatural endowments that empower individuals to carry out specific tasks and ministries within the Christian community.

The Bible clarifies that these gifts are freely given by God and cannot be earned or merited. Their ultimate purpose is for the common good, to build up the entire Church, and to equip believers for works of service. They promote unity within the body of Christ, as each member plays a vital role.

Scripture outlines a variety of these gifts, notably in 1 Corinthians 12-14, Romans 12, and Ephesians 4. Some examples include:

  • Wisdom and Knowledge: Utterance of wisdom and knowledge through the Spirit.
  • Faith, Healing, and Miracles: Gifts of faith, healing, and the working of miracles.
  • Prophecy and Tongues: Prophecy, various kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues.
  • Service and Leadership: Service, teaching, exhortation, generosity (giving), leadership, and acts of mercy.
  • Apostleship and Evangelism: Apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastor-teachers.

To begin discovering your spiritual gifts, the sources suggest prayer, studying these biblical passages, seeking feedback from other believers, and taking a spiritual gifts test... then come back and use the self-assessment tool above to see how your perception of your gifts has changed.
