My name is Nadine Murray, and I'm here on behalf of the Parish Selection Committee to provide you with an update. I'm excited to walk you through where we currently stand in the process.

Hi everyone! Good morning.

Introduction to the Selection Committee

For those who might not be fully aware, the selection committee plays a crucial role in leading our parish through the process of selecting a new priest for our church. Your participation in the voting process on June 15th was invaluable. Our committee is composed of dedicated members: Kanye Hodge, Beverly Brown, Shalon Jeffers, Patricia Castello, myself, and Nicole DeCosta.

During one of our recent meetings, I was appointed as the committee chair, which is why I'm providing you with this update. Nicole DeCosta is our co-chair, and Shalon Jeffers takes on the role of committee secretary.

Our Recent Meetings and Guidance

We had a significant meeting on July 17th with Bishop Kevin Robertson and our diocesan coaches, Elizabeth McCaffrey and William McCullough, who have extensive experience in guiding parishes through this selection process. They provided us with a comprehensive overview and encouraged us to seek God's wisdom at every step. Beverly was tasked with composing a parish prayer to guide us, which will soon be included in the church's bulletin and shared as bookmarks with all of you.

Upcoming Consultation with the Congregation

Planning is underway for an in-person consultation with you, the congregation, scheduled for Sunday, September 28th, 2025, after the 11:00 AM service in the church hall. Refreshments will be available, and I invite all parishioners to come and participate in these discussions. The diocesan coaches, Elizabeth and William, will lead the consultation, while our committee members facilitate group discussions to understand your desires for our next incumbent priest.

Developing Our Parish Profile

A key element in the selection process is our parish profile, which will outline important aspects of our church community, programs, and desired leadership qualities. Work on this document will begin soon, and we aim to finalize it after the consultation meeting.

Confidentiality and Future Updates

As the process progresses, it's vital to remind everyone of the importance of confidentiality, especially once interviews begin. Rest assured, we are committed to keeping you informed and will share updates as we're able while respecting the confidentiality of candidates.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we embark on this journey together.
