St James will mark the final Sunday of ministry for The Rev. Matthew Waterman and give thanks for his faithful ministry at St. James Cathedral since May 2024... coffee and cake after the 9:00am and 11:00am services. Sunday, September 6th, Matthew becomes the incumbent at St Stephen's, Downsview.

Matthew graduated from Wycliffe College Toronto in 2020 with a Master of Divinity, after having obtained a Bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Toronto in 2017.
Prior to his ordination, Matthew served in various roles in the Diocese of Toronto, and for a time in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.
He was appointed to St. James Cathedral as Assistant Curate in May 2024 and as Associate Priest in May 2026.
Matthew is married to the Rev. Carol Shih, who is also a priest in the diocese of Toronto.
He looks forward with great anticipation to beginning work among the community at St. Stephen’s.
