SquareUp does everything Pllenty does and much more
With SquareUp we can..
- Scan QR to give like Pllenty (this is what we will test)
- Pay with Google Pay / Apple Pay
- Create additional QR for new campaigns/events
- Better integration with event registration forms
- Add "tap-to-pay" terminals
- Use an Android/IOS app to accept payments
So What?
If you have no interest in electronic payments, don't worry. We are not discontinuing any methods of giving we have now. But, a younger priest may attract younger parishioners, giving an offering is part of worship, and we want newcomers to feel they are welcome. We also want to be able to grow our programs and activities, and many younger leaders see handling cash and paper cheques as intimidating.
Why test?
We know you can make donations through SquareUp and the money goes into the church bank account.
We need to verify with real people, making real donations, that the donation information from SquareUp can load to our software for issuing tax receipts, Donation, efficiently and accurately.
Again, we know this works. But we want to verify that it works with minimum effort.
August is the best time BECAUSE attendance is at its lowest, and the office has the least workload.
