Sat, Dec 12th, 7:30pm
From the opening notes of the overture to the final chords of the 'Amen' chorus, this masterpiece captures our hearts and imagination, and you are invited to share this experience with us on Saturday, December 12 at 7:30pm. Tickets $48 till Nov-1
Dear Friend of Music at St. James Cathedral,
We are thrilled to be presenting Handel's Messiah at St. James Cathedral this year.
Handel wrote the Messiah in only 24 days, and its popularity has not waned since its first performance in 1742.
Two wonderful choirs, our own Cathedral Choir and the Chapel Choir of Trinity College, are joined by four outstanding soloists and an orchestra. Last year's performance was sold out and we urge you to buy tickets in good time. You may also wish to become a Patron and enjoy a wine and cheese reception before the performance.
Join us on Saturday, December 12 as we travel together from the warmth of the opening "Comfort Ye" through to the majestic "Hallelujah" Chorus and the triumphant "Amen".
It will be a journey to remember; we do hope that you will join us with your family and friends!
Thomas Bell, Conductor
Soprano: Maeve Palmer
Alto: Sarah Mole
Tenor: Bud Roach
Baritone: Dion Mazerolle
