A living wall is a horrifying construct-like undead, made of the bodies of humanoids, compressed into the shape of a wall. The faces of the individuals absorbed by the wall can be seen on its surface with a permanent expression of anguish, or it can be concealed by an illusion of a normal wall. Living walls were very rare undead monstrosities created from multiple living creatures.[1][3] To most creatures, these appeared to be mere ordinary walls of stone or brick.
But to creatures who possessed truesight, the true seeing spell, a gem of seeing, or some other form of magic that saw through illusions, a living wall was seen to consist of greying and sinewy flesh, with various faces. However, a character who casts a true seeing spell or who peers through a gem of seeing will see past the illusion: the wall actually consists of greying and sinewy flesh - of faces, hands, broken bones, feet, and toes jutting.
