Displays included the history of the building of the Abbey, monastic life, and the Abbey's impact on the community, the architecture and sculptures of the buildings, and the role of the Abbey in present. The works reveal all of the 891 carved memorial stones on the Abbey floor and show us the names of nearly 1500 people commemorated there. Wessex Archaeology was commissioned to produce a comprehensive 3D model of the restored Bath Abbey floor in addition to two separate models for the main stained-glass windows, the eastern and western windows. The Abbey floor is made up of approximately 2,400 stones, and it was the deterioration and consolidation of the burials underneath the site that had caused ongoing subsidence, and subsequent collapsing of the flooring. During the works, all 891 inscribed ledger stones that made up the floor were lifted, documented, and repaired.
