Going from bathroom light switch (pull cord) to isolation switch to a Fantronix (timer) extractor fan. Wired this way the fan does nothing. Bathroom light has Live (L1) black wire, Neutral (COM) red wire and Earth, yellow and green.

The diagram shows the fan as having permanent supply. The only fans that use this are fans with timer over run, timer over run fans are used in conjunction with the existing light.
