2025 IMSA Carset

by eky78

Here is my carset for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportCar Championship. It is well balanced between prototypes and GTs:
- 13 cars from GTP - the main class: 4 Porsche, 3 Cadillac, 2 Acura, 2 BMW, 1 Aston Martin and 1 Lamborghini.
- 14 cars from GTD, which is diveded between Pro class and Am class: 2 BMW, 2 Porsche (1 in Am), 2 Lexus (1 in Am), 2 Ford, 2 Corvette, 2 Lamborghini (1 in Am), 2 Ferrari (1 in Am). To separate the classes (they run technically the same cars) I´ve added a * at the end of the drivers´ names to each Am entry:

Due to GP2´s limit of 26 cars, one car from the GTD class will miss out the race.

I decided not to include the LMP2s because they were not racing in every event and - most importantly - they are all from the same constructor (Oreca). Also I find no motivation in doing 10 Orecas each with its own livery. I am sorry about that. But that has freed up more space for GT cars, which are more entertaining to watch.

Thanks to rremedio´s last efforts, it is now possible to have different liveries even from the same team, which means there are now 27 liveries in total. For this opportunity you need to install the newer version of GP2LAP, available here: https://grandprix2.racing/file/tool/view/gp2lap-experimental-build
Another new feature of this extension is that we can have more than 2 carshapes at the same time. For this carset I used 3 carshapes: 1 for the prototypes, 1 for GTD with mid/rear engine (Porsche, Corvette, Lamborghini, Ferrari), 1 for the other GTDs with front engine (BMW, Lexus, Ford).

Thanks to:
- F.K. for the Prototype shape (from his 2008 Le Mans Carset)
- Greyhead for both GT shapes (from his 1998 GT Carset)
- Michael82 for the amazing car sounds
- Orloff from grandprix.com for his GP3-Carsets. I used them to compare and improve the liveries
- Antonio Pessoa for updating the Le Mans circuit for GP2
- rremedios for his new version of GP2Lap
- All the authors of IMSA or WEC tracks
- Geoff Crammond for making this beautiful game!!!
- All the people who helped or are still helping in keeping this game alive

====================== INSTALLTION INFO================================

- Make sure that you have used the maximum (OPTIMAL) installation of GP2 (it requires 58MB of free space on your HD).

- Download and install GP2Edit v1.85 or higher. Remember to configure your GP2 location in GP2Edit : Window | Program Configuration.

- To install this carset, press the blue arrow or select from the tool bar: Options | Export To Game.

- Select the items you want to install and press EXPORT.

- Don't forget to export camera settings, and points data!

- For the sounds you can use the ones I´ve used for my 1998 Le Mans Carset (available here: http://grandprix2.de/gp2forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22125). They were made by Michael82 I can´t find the original link.

----> If you want to better enjoy the carset I recommend installing rremedio´s most recent build of GP2LAP, available here: https://grandprix2.racing/file/tool/view/gp2lap-experimental-build

- Once GP2Lap is installed you can copy both files ("override.org" and "gp2lap.cfg") and both folders ("liv" and "shapes") from this ZIP file into your GP2 Directory.

- Run GP2Lap on DosBox and enjoy it.

I recommend using a fresh Version of GP2 to avoid possible issues.
