Qiaoyuan Park, An Ecosystem Services
Abstract： In the Chinese city of Tianjin, the strategy of "adaptive palettes"was used to create a series of biologically diverse ecosystems that could repair contaminated soils and treat urban stormwater by relying on nature's processes.Today, Qiaoyuan Park has reclaimed a brownfield by integrating re-generative ecological functions, using native plants in a land-scape that is allowed to ...

Turenscape: Through Regenerative Design and by changing landforms, the natural process of plant adaptation and community evolution is introduced to transform a former deserted shooting range used as a garbage dump, into a low maintenance urban park ; providing diverse nature's services for the city including containing and purifying storm water; improving the saline-alkali soil, providing ...
Tianjin Qiaoyuan Wetland Park, Tianjin, China
Regenerative Ecology Qiaoyuan Wetland Park project in the Chinese city of Tianjin was designed by Turenscape and completed in 2008. The wetland park was built on a 22 hectares site based on an adaptive strategy to deal with storm water by creating a series of biologically diverse ecosystems that also help decontaminate the soil.
The park measures twenty-two hectares and it is located in the northern coastal city of Tianjin, China. Through Regenerative Design and by changing landforms, the natural process of plant adaptation and community evolution is introduced to transform a former deserted shooting range used as a garbage dump, into a low maintenance urban park . This provides diverse nature's services for the city ...
Through regenerative design , the natural processes of plant adaptation and succession were introduced, transforming a 54-acre garbage dump into a low-maintenance urban park in the northern coastal city of Tianjin, China. The 21 "bubbles" (wet and dry cavities) manage urban stormwater from offsite, improve the saline-alkali soil through natural processes, and allow rich patches of native ...
