Zero reliability problems on my '06 K1200S in 12000 miles, just 2 finish related issues that were dealt with under warranty very promptly with minimum fuss. The new '08 K1200S has only done 1000 miles and all is well apart from a juddering clutch, which has improved with a few miles but is not as it should be. I suspect it will need to be replaced.

2005, which is the 1st model year for K1200S. I've heard a few complaints about reliability, but I'm just here, scratching my head, loving my ride. There were a couple recalls BMW dealership took care of for me, but nothing major- gas indication strip in the gas tank, rear wheel flange bolts.

Power delivery, really heavy, seat Choosing The K1200S I bought my 2007 K1200S as I'd always liked the look and was curious what they'd be like to live with. So despite reading many mixed reviews about reliability and build quality I bought one. Well the reviews are largely right but if you get a well sorted one they are phenomenal bikes.

"Some radical engineering and plenty of proven technology" - MCN reviews the BMW K1200S, plus specs and owner ratings: The final curtain to my woes. A brick K1200 RS/GT would be equally reliable, but a little old to expect experienced service. If you are good with wrenches look for a 2003.

Any K1200/1300s owners here? I recently got a 2005 K1200S and I must say these are wonderful machines. Lots of low end torque and a pretty decent top end. Reading up on them they have their quirks but overall they seem to hold up pretty well and are reliable.
