Bmw K1200s Gear Indicator

Finally got my 2003 K1200RS back from the BMW shop today after having the final drive repaired. The bike runs as good as ever (what an awesome bike) but my digital gear indicator is showing incorrect, random #s, mostly 0 and 1. Sometimes it will change #s 5-10 seconds after a gear change, and.

On a recent trip I had to ride through a long period of rain. About 2 hours in the gear indicator went wonky - showing wrong gear, staying at 0, only working for gears 3-6, etc. Now it picks up at 3 and shows through 6.
