What can I say? I was distracted. Four-year olds require a certain amount of attention-especially at a concours event. After returning to appreciate both the front and back halves of the custom M3 Touring build, complete with proper E46 M3 bodywork, interior, S54 engine, and manual transmission, I immediately thought of BMW's first M3 Touring.

BMW never sold an M3 E46 wagon but an aftermarket shop built one by merging a 325i Touring with an M3 Coupe, both from the E46 generation. M3 engine, manual transmission, all-wheel drive, wagon. It's the perfect combination of components to create the ultimate BMW.

Welcome to our latest project, this stunning Orient Blue E46 325i Touring (Wagon) Slicktop which we are converting to full S54 and 6. The custom BMW E46 M3 Touring is a one-of-a-kind estate car that combines the power and performance of an M3 with the practicality of a wagon. BMW M3 Touring (E46) The most complete and factory-quality BMW M3 (E46) wagon conversion in the world deserves a feature in R oad & Track. Owner Sam Craven built his unobtainable dream M3, starting with a standard 3-series wagon, and giving it the drivetrain, subframes, suspension, and more from a donor M3 Coupe. The rear seats had to be custom trimmed with the same pattern to match the fronts, as this particular finish wasn't an option for the Touring.
