The Fascinating History of Velociraptors
Velociraptors were small to medium-sized carnivorous dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 75 to 71 million years ago. They were known for their intelligence, pack hunting behavior, and sharp claws on their feet.
The name 'velociraptor' means 'swift thief' in Latin, which suits their agile and quick movements. These dinosaurs were around 2-3 meters long and weighed around 30-40 kilograms, making them relatively small compared to other dinosaurs.
Despite their size, velociraptors were formidable hunters and played a crucial role in the ecosystem during the Late Cretaceous period.
