Built in 1988, the stadium was constructed with the intention to bring a major league team to the Nickel City. When the building opened it boasted a capacity of over 16,500 and had plans to. Sahlen Field is not only home to the Buffalo Bisons but to many other amazing events.

One of the largest outdoor concerts in Western New York, The Toyota Taste of Country is held every June. The National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival is also returning to Sahlen Field this year. Keeping the Bisons name going strong today is the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, founded in 1979 and playing their home games at Sahlen Field in downtown Buffalo.

Designed by famed stadium architect Populous, Sahlen Field was the very first retro-classic ballpark ever built, opening to the public in 1988. Home to the Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, Sahlen Field is one of minor league baseball's premier ballparks. Fans enjoy an outfield party deck, themed suites, and a full-service restaurant.

Recent upgrades include a new HD video board, enhanced lighting, and a redesigned field. Buffalo Bisons' Sahlen Field Buffalo, NY 14203 Buffalo Description Sahlen Field (formerly Pilot Field, North AmeriCare Park, Downtown Ballpark, Dunn Tire Park and, most recently, Coca-Cola Field) is a 16,907-seat baseball park in Buffalo, home of the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons of the International League, was completed prior to the team's 1988. The stadium was initially named Pilot Field and served as the home of the Buffalo Bisons, the city's minor league baseball team.

The facility was designed to meet the standards for potential future MLB expansion, with a seating capacity of over 19,000 and state. The stadium would inspire the design of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, a stadium that heavily influenced the ballpark design and aesthetics at the Major League level. Naming rights for the stadium passed through several companies, eventually settling on Sahlen Field, a meat packing company based in town, in 2019.
