Welcome to the Diamond League App ("we," "our," or "us"). Your privacy and satisfaction are important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Diamond League App and its related websites, apps, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Diamond League App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1. Account Information

   When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, phone number, email address, shirt size, and profile details (e.g., player photo, home court, DUPR ID, and other event-related information).

2. Usage Data

   We use Sentry to collect information about how you interact with the app, including pages viewed, features used, crash reports, performance metrics and device information (such as device model, operating system, and app version).

3. Event Information

   If you register for tournaments or events, we may collect registration details, team information, and tournament results.

4. Payment Information

   We use Stripe to securely process payments for event registration or other in-app purchases. When you make a payment, your payment details (such as credit or debit card information) are handled directly by Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s Privacy Policy. We do not store or have access to your full payment information.

5. Third-Party Data (DUPR)
   With your consent, we may access your DUPR rating or related data through the official DUPR platform for use in rankings, seeding, and event results. This data is retrieved securely and is not used for advertising or tracking.

6. Photos and Media

   If you upload a profile image or event-related photos, these are stored to personalize your account and event participation.

7. User-Generated Content
   Users may upload limited content, such as a profile photo, for use within their account or tournament profile. We reserve the right to remove content that violates our Terms of Use or community guidelines.

8. Location Data (Optional)

   If you grant permission, we may collect approximate location data to show nearby events or courts. You can disable location permissions at any time in your device settings.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies (if applicable)

   We may use cookies or similar technologies to help personalize your experience, analyze usage, and measure engagement. You can adjust your cookie preferences through your device or browser settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

• Facilitate event registration, participation, and results tracking.

• Process secure payments through Stripe.

• Personalize your experience and display relevant information.

• Communicate updates, notifications, or support responses.

• Conduct analytics and performance tracking to improve features and user experience.

• You will receive occasional marketing and promotional communications regarding new events, features, or offers. We may also send you marketing materials on behalf of, or in collaboration with, brands or organizations with which we are affiliated or partnered. You may withdraw your consent and opt out of such communications at any time.

• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, misuse, or technical issues.

• Ensure compliance with legal obligations and protect our rights.

• Support service development and new feature testing.

• Use aggregated or anonymized data for reporting, trend analysis, and business insights.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may use trusted third-party tools (e.g., analytics, error reporting, or advertising SDKs) to help us understand app performance and improve the user experience. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

1. With Event Organizers: To manage registrations, match schedules, results, and tournament operations.

2. Public Display of Tournament Information: Certain information (such as your name, photo, home court, division, match results, or leaderboard standing) may be publicly displayed within the app or on related event pages as part of tournament results and rankings.

3. With Service Providers: For hosting, analytics, payments (Stripe), or technical support under confidentiality agreements.

4. For Marketing and Analytics: We may use aggregated or anonymized data to evaluate performance and improve marketing effectiveness.

5. For Legal Reasons: When required by law or to protect our rights, users, or others.

6. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the new owner or entity. If such a transfer occurs, we will notify users by email or through a prominent notice in the app.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We delete your account data when you request deletion.

If you've joined a tournament, we may retain limited identifying details — such as your name and registration email — as part of that event's historical record. This information is kept only to preserve tournament integrity, prevent duplicate entries, and comply with operational requirements.

All other personal data (login information, photos, phone numbers, tokens, etc.) is permanently removed.

Retained information is archived and never used for marketing or authentication.

7. Your Privacy Choices

1. Access & Update: You can view or update your account information within the app settings.

2. Delete Account: You can request account deletion at anytime. If your name or email appears in prior tournament results, we’ll retain it only for event accuracy and compliance.

3. Notifications: You may opt out of non-essential or promotional notifications through your device or in-app settings (when available).

4. Marketing: If we send promotional emails or messages, you will be able to opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in those communications.

5. Cookies & Tracking: Manage or disable cookies and analytics tracking in your device.

6. Location & Photos: You can disable location or photo permissions at any time in device settings.

8. Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption and secure server storage. Payment processing is handled through Stripe’s secure systems. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access.

9. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, please note that your information may be processed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws. We take steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for independent use by children under 13 years of age. However, a parent or legal guardian may create and manage an account on behalf of their child to register for and participate in Diamond League events.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. By creating an account or submitting information for a child, the parent or guardian confirms that they are authorized to do so and accept responsibility for the child’s use of the Service. If we become aware that an account was created by a child without parental permission, we will delete the information promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated version will be posted in the app with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service means you accept any changes.
