Welding Disc Tabs Steel Frame

Welding Disc Tabs Steel Frame. This is a retrofit that we do regularly on titanium and steel frames, and some forks. Before i do this, i'm wondering if i should contemplate having disc tabs welded?

Adding a disc brake mount is a great way to increase stopping power on bikes originally built with rim brakes. Includes the cost of labor, the disc tab, and a short brace tube between the seat and chainstays. I am wondering if welding causes the seatstay to be weaker.

Here's a simple video about my process for adding disc brake tabs to an old steel nishiki mountain bike frame. We also have proprietary goods and items from gasflux, harris, weld mold, 3m. The frame is made of air hardened cromoly, and heat treated after welding. I am wondering if welding causes the seatstay to be weaker.
