I miss the ole Anime Expo days where half the rooms were showing random anime and was barely filled. It was mostly quiet (anime was still playing), air conditioned and didn't smell like nerd stank of the exhibit hall. So screening rooms are usually a common staple at cons like AX: rooms that just screen anime episodes. Some recent, some older. It was a place for people to discover anime they wouldn't have previously considered, or pragmatically (at least for me) they're a quiet place to kick your feet up and rest from the crowds or to kill time between events.
