My Nest measures humidity anywhere between 50% and 70%, depending on the floor of the house and whether or not the AC is actively running. This is probably a bit on the high side, but Houston is an incredibly humid city, certainly moreso than Austin. Thanks for prompting me to research this a bit more - I might invest in a dehumidifier!
I cannot figure out how to get this humidity level down to low 50's or even 40's constantly. Is the high 50's to high 60's normal for Southeast humidity? What are some ideas (beyond whole house dehumid.) that i can try to lower the humidity? 55-60% feels fine too me at 73 degrees F, but I am worried about mold and dust mites in the home. Any ideas?
