Embarking on a new furniture assembly project can be an exciting yet daunting task. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of assembling your Mainstays Lift Top Coffee Table, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome. Let's dive in!
Understanding the Components
Before you begin, familiarize yourself with the components of your coffee table. Your package should include:
- Table top
- Table base
- Lift mechanism
- Legs
- Hardware (screws, bolts, and washers)
- Assembly instructions (which you're following now!)
Gather Your Tools
You'll need a few tools to help you with the assembly. Here's a list to ensure you're prepared:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Hammer
- Tape measure
- Pencil
Assembling the Table Base
Begin by assembling the table base, which consists of the legs and the support beams.
- Lay out the legs and support beams as shown in the diagram provided with your instructions.
- Using the hardware provided, attach the support beams to the legs. Ensure the table base is square by measuring diagonally from corner to corner. Adjust as needed.
- Attach the cross braces to the table base using the provided hardware.
Installing the Lift Mechanism
The lift mechanism allows your table top to lift and lower smoothly. Follow these steps for installation:
- Position the lift mechanism onto the table base, ensuring the gas cylinder is facing the correct direction.
- Secure the lift mechanism to the table base using the provided hardware.
- Test the lift mechanism by gently lifting the top to ensure it functions correctly.
Attaching the Table Top
Now that the base and lift mechanism are assembled, it's time to attach the table top.
- Carefully place the table top onto the lift mechanism, ensuring it is centered and level.
- Secure the table top to the lift mechanism using the provided hardware.
- Test the lift mechanism again to ensure it works smoothly with the table top attached.
