Goku's orange gi differs from a traditional taekwondo dobok by its vibrant orange color, blue obi, wristbands, and boots. It often features kanji symbols, like Whis' kanji, which are absent in a typical white dobok. Gohan's gi is blue with a red obi and red wristbands, while Goku's is an orange gi with blue wristbands and boots.
Re: Gohan's Gi. Blue or Purple? by dbgtFO Thu Dec 22, 2016 9:31 pm Ah, good points there. My major source of DB in colors are the video games and particularly DBZ Budokai 2 and 3, where Gohan's primary gi is the same color through Saiyan, Freeza, Cell and Buu arcs.
Interestingly, the manga color scheme for the gi honors both Goku and Piccolo- Gohan's two martial arts masters. The body of the gi is purple whereas the sash, ankle warmers, and wristguards are all orange. It's an interesting gi and one that deserved more attention.

Click on a color. Gohan's Green Demon Gi Although Dragon Ball (the manga) is primarily in black and white, Akira Toriyama would often feature color chapters throughout the series' serialization. Edit 2: Nothing quite in regards to it in the anime, but apparently Dokkan has a Super Saiyan 3 Gohan card or whatever in Piccolo's full gi, cape included.
