What Should You Never Put on Artificial Grass? Avoid These Materials
Maintaining artificial grass goes beyond cleaning—it’s crucial to avoid certain materials that can degrade its quality, cause discoloration, or create safety hazards.
Avoid Heavy Debris and Sharp Objects
While artificial grass withstands foot traffic, placing heavy items like large rocks, bricks, or metal tools directly on the surface can puncture fibers or bend infill, reducing longevity. Always use lightweight, protective covers for storage or special use.
Steer Clear of Chemical Cleaners with Harsh Ingredients
Strong chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, or acidic cleaners strip protective coatings and fade color. Opt for mild, pH-neutral cleaners specifically designed for synthetic turf to preserve its appearance and structural integrity.
Never Mix Inorganic and Organic Waste
Avoid tossing food scraps, pet waste, or garden soil onto artificial grass—these attract moisture, encourage mold, and attract pests. They also break down unevenly, dulling color and damaging the surface over time.
Protect your investment by avoiding heavy debris, harsh chemicals, and organic waste on artificial grass. Following these guidelines ensures lasting performance and a vibrant, low-maintenance landscape. Keep your artificial turf looking fresh—choose wisely, clean gently, and maintain consistently.
