Failure to do so results in, you guessed it, snap oversteer. Toyota made changes to the MR2's suspension after hearing too many complaints from automotive journalists regarding snap oversteer. In a sense, they "dulled" the handling down a bit to make the car more predictable and easier to manage.
You can get any car to snap oversteer if you ham it up enough, some wonky suspension settings may be required. It is more common with MR setups thanks to the weight balance. You can tune out snap oversteer but it makes the car worse at cornering.
I'm contemplating purchasing an MR2 as a project car but all this talk about snap oversteer has got me hesitant. Is it really as bad as they say? And if so, is there a way to correct or lessen it? Mind you, I drive a G37 Sedan, so I'm used to great handling. Snap oversteer is the often-given name for the conclusion of fishtailing, an oversteer condition which is exacerbated by excessive counter-steering input.
The point I suspect the title is getting at, and is very true is the MR2 is not unique in its relationship with physics.
