Design and Dimensions
For this DIY craft table, we'll create a table that is 48" wide, 24" deep, and 30" tall, with three cube storage units on each side. You can adjust these dimensions to fit your specific needs and space. The tabletop will be 1-1/2" thick, made from 1/2" plywood and 1x6 lumber, and the cube storage units will be 12" x 12" x 12".
Building the Table Base
Begin by cutting the 2x4 lumber to create the table's base. You'll need four 24" legs, two 48" aprons (front and back), and two 21" aprons (sides). Assemble the base using pocket hole screws and wood glue, ensuring the legs are square and the aprons are flush with the top of the legs.

Creating the Tabletop
To create the tabletop, cut four 1x6 boards to 48" in length. Lay them side by side and attach them using wood glue and 1-1/4" brad nails. Cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to 47-1/2" x 23-1/2" and attach it to the bottom of the 1x6 boards using wood glue and pocket hole screws. This will create a sturdy, 1-1/2" thick tabletop.
Attaching the Tabletop to the Base
Place the tabletop onto the base and secure it using wood glue and pocket hole screws. Ensure the tabletop is flush with the top of the legs and aprons. Once the glue is dry, fill any holes with wood filler, sand the entire table, and paint or stain as desired.
Building the Cube Storage Units
To create the cube storage units, cut eight 1x8 boards to 12" in length. These will serve as the sides of the cubes. Cut four pieces of 1/4" plywood to 12" x 12" for the cube bottoms. Assemble the cubes using wood glue and 1-1/4" brad nails, ensuring the sides are flush with each other. Attach the bottoms using wood glue and pocket hole screws.

Adding Doors and Handles
Cut four 12" x 12" pieces of 1/4" plywood for the cube doors. Attach hinges to the inside of the cube opening and the doors, ensuring the doors swing open and closed smoothly. Attach handles to the doors for easy opening and closing.
Finishing Touches
Position the cube storage units on each side of the table, ensuring they are level and flush with the tabletop. Secure them using wood glue and pocket hole screws. Fill any holes with wood filler, sand the entire table, and apply a final coat of paint or stain if desired.
