Is a heater in the bathroom fan worth it? I'm going to be replacing my bathroom fan as part of an ongoing yearly battle against shower mold. However I have found a few models that also have a heater in them. I like the idea of being able to stay warm while drying off, especially since this new fan will likely be robbing me of precious warm air.

I am deciding which type to install and I can't help but think that exhaust fans with heaters will just suck most of the heat right back up into the fan. Also, it seems like the lights would not be enough for even a small bathroom. Anyone have experiences with or thoughts about these issues? BTW, In SoCal.

Delta bathroom exhaust fans I assume you are asking about? Not delta ceiling comfort fans or PC fans. They are fine, much like Brian/nutone. I'd still prefer to pay the extra 20$ and jump up to the Panasonic value line.

Lol, we have a heater installed in the bathroom just for this purpose! I turn it on 20 min prior to showering an it makes for a toasty, comfortable place to step out of the shower into. Just make sure anything you use is rated for use in wet/high humidity spaces. In terms of the 4 in 1- Be wary of fan heaters (ie blowing air into the bathroom); they seem good in theory but when you are standing there with wet bare skin it blows over you and actually cools you off (unless the air is very hot).

Keen to get some recommendations on bathroom fans for our upcoming reno. Keen on this flat vent kind of style rather than the big globe style ones. The common Broan 655 is a piece of junk.

Loud, fans don't last long, heat all seems to be sucked out by the exhaust fan if run simultaneous. Is there a good alternative? Is it even possible to put the heat and exhaust fan in the same unit or will it always get sucked straight out? Put a heater in the wall? Panasonic seems to make many in this space but too many choices. The fan in the bathroom my kids use is broken.
