Bmw Csl Hommage Concept

The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept is a striking design exercise that's unlikely to see production. The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R therefore combines all the classic BMW hallmarks within a modern and emotionally rich design language, adding even greater lustre to the already glittering engineering achievement of 40 years ago. BMW has pulled a Lamborghini-style surprise and unveiled this radical new racing concept at Pebble Beach.

Officially, it's called the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R. Unofficially, we're calling it. During the 2015 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, I've filmed the world debut of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept.

The car looks absolutely amazing if you ask. In May, BMW unveiled the striking 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept as a tribute to its original 1971 3.0 CSL Coupe, a lightweight road. The wheel is not the only design cue similar to the racer.

Although BMW's high-quality cabins are a main draw, this concept has a cockpit that is extremely race-oriented, not providing any distractions in the least. The wooden dash echoes the original 3.0 CSL's and M colors were also added on the ends of the wooden section. Race-oriented is not void of style, though, with key retro touches.

The 3.0 CSL Hommage is the third Hommage car from BMW in recent years, following on from the M1 Hommage from 2008 and the 328 Hommage, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of the 328 racer in 2011. Developed in-house by BMW Design Team, the 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept is a tribute to the original 3.0 CSL, a timeless classic and iconic BMW Coupé from the 1970s.
