Bmw Hommage R 3.0 Csl

The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R therefore combines all the classic BMW hallmarks within a modern and emotionally rich design language, adding even greater lustre to the already glittering engineering achievement of 40 years ago. The BMW 3.0 CSL HOMMAGE R is a concept car built by BMW Group in 2016 and the racing version of the regular BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage. It was unveiled at the 2016 Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach.

The BMW 3.0 CSL HOMMAGE R celebrates both the 40th anniversary of BMW in North America and the heady racing success of the BMW 3.0 CSL in 1975. Much like the previous Hommage concept, the 3.0 CSL Hommage R is a great way to pay tribute to one of BMW's most iconic race cars and celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary in North America. Following up on the Hommage concept debuted earlier this year, BMW unveiled a hardcore 3.0 CSL Hommage R at Pebble Beach.

BMW has pulled a Lamborghini-style surprise and unveiled this radical new racing concept at Pebble Beach. Officially, it's called the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R. Unofficially, we're calling it.

The wheel is not the only design cue similar to the racer. Although BMW's high-quality cabins are a main draw, this concept has a cockpit that is extremely race-oriented, not providing any distractions in the least. The wooden dash echoes the original 3.0 CSL's and M colors were also added on the ends of the wooden section.

Race-oriented is not void of style, though, with key retro touches. In May, BMW unveiled the striking 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept as a tribute to its original 1971 3.0 CSL Coupe, a lightweight road. For the Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach, BMW decided to create a new concept car.
