Bmw Dixi Roadster

Dixi is a brand name of cars made by originally by Automobilwerk Eisenach, later by BMW. The first Dixi car was produced in 1904. [1]: 125 In the difficult economic climate of the 1920s the company found it hard to sell its 6/24 and 9/40 models.

The Dixi was the first car made by BMW, but it wasn't originally a BMW nameplate. Dixi was a german brand used for the cars produced by Automobilwerk Eisenach (Eisenach car factory) starting in 1904. However, after the First World War, the company had serious financial problems and subsequently, BMW bought the the Dixi brand in October 1928.

The Dixi came in a range of body styles from sedans to roadsters. BMW proudly sold over 25,000 examples of both sedan and convertible models. In 1929, the upgraded "Dixi" was launched and with it, the removal of the DA badge.

Three years later, BMW introduced its first independently manufactured car called the 3/20. THE 303 AND 328 ROADSTER. In 1928, Castiglioni and BMW signed a deal to buy the Eisenach factory.

The car was renamed the BMW Dixi, and a year later it shed the moniker for good. BMW renamed it the DA-1 3/15 PS, which stood for Deutsche Ausführung (German Version) One, and the 3/15 represented three speeds and 15 actual horsepower from the 748. Virtually identical to the Austin, the Dixi nonetheless was left-hand drive and used metric fasteners.

Available body styles were roadster, coupe, tourer, and sedan with a few chassis that went to external coachbuilders. The majority of the vehicles left the factory as tourers. BMW purchased the Automobilwerk Eisenach in 1928 and with it, the rights to build the Dixi vehicle.

The vehicles were. One of Germany's well-known car makers, BMW began building engines for airplanes. Forbidden to continue making airplane engines after WWI, BMW turned to engines for motorcycles and heavy trucks.

Dixi was the first car made by BMW. It is an extremely rare find. This car is in an excellent condition and drives absolutely superb.
