Anyone else do this? Apparently, it will also prevent intake valves from getting dirty so quickly. I know there's been discussion about this in. Blank off you EGR valve, or get it mapped out.

Mapping will need to be done if you blanked it anyway. A company in Leicester quoted me £75 to software delete my EGR valve, on my '06. I don't think the N54 engine has an EGR, I believe it does something clever with valve overlap to draw some exhaust back into the cylinder.

I have an F11 520d 2013 with a N47T engine at 300,000Km and my dealer just 1) changed the EGR (under a recall), 2) cleaned the entire air intake system which I requested them to do and 3) changed the intake manifold gasket (part #: 11617812938) as it was really dirty and had some play in 2 of the 4 flaps.
