Welcome to Toyota Woven City, a collaborative community driven by a shared passion to enhance well-being for all. Here, we come together to co-create, test and bring to life products and services aimed at relieving common, everyday societal challenges around the movement of people, goods, information and energy. To mark the occasion, Toyota and WbyT hosted a launch event in Japan with key stakeholders.

With residents beginning to move in and partner companies starting co-creation, Woven City takes its first steps as a real-world test course for mobility and a key driver of Toyota's transformation into a mobility company. Woven City is a test course for mobility where "Inventors" who share a commitment to working "for someone other than themselves" can develop, test, and validate innovative products and services. These inventors include Toyota and Toyota Group companies, such as WbyT, as well as external companies, startups, and individual entrepreneurs.

Toyota has opened the doors to the first phase of Woven City, its experimental town meant to act as an incubator for technologies from autonomous driving to artificial intelligence. Located on the former site of Toyota Motor East Japan's ("TMEJ") Higashi-Fuji Plant in Susono City, southeast of Mount Fuji, the first phase of Woven City completed construction in October 2024.

Toyota has officially completed phase-one construction on Woven City, the company's futuristic town where it aims to redefine mobility. The first 100 residents will move into the city this fall. SUSONO, Shizuoka Prefecture--Woven City near Mount Fuji is where Japanese automaker Toyota plans to test everyday living with robotics, artificial intelligence and autonomous zero.

To mark the occasion, Toyota and WbyT hosted a launch event in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, with key stakeholders.
