Shoe Print Fossil

In 1968, William Meister was searching for trilobite fossils in 500-million-year-old strata known as the Cambrian Wheeler Formation near Antelope Springs, Utah. [1][2] He discovered what looked like a human shoe print with a trilobite under its heel after breaking open a slab. For example, a shoe-print fossil discovered in a seam of coal in Fisher Canyon, Nevada is believed to be about 15 million.

Meister described his finding in an article published in the Creation Research Society Quarterly: "The mark of the heel was embedded in the stone three millimeters more than the rest of the footprint. Because the rock it was found in is at least 5 million years old" Ballou's article created a controversy over the age of the fossilized shoeprint, as it was stated to have been found in Triassic rock.

According to this, the print could be at least 200 million years old. The latter article, entitled "Mystery of the Petrified Shoe Sole" stated: "Some time ago, while he was prospecting for fossils in Nevada, John T. Reid, a distinguished mining engineer and geologist, stopped suddenly and looked down in utter bewilderment and amazement at a rock near his feet.

Experts determined that the sandal print on the fossil's right foot was larger than modern shoe prints, dating back 300 to 600 million years. Minute crystals of sulphide of mercury are to be noticed throughout the spaces of this fossil shoe-sole, these minerals having been deposited in the long ago by waters which carried them in solution. Regrettably, the present location of the artifact is unknown, so further studies cannot be conducted.

References: Nevada Shoe Print? One particular fossil dated 200 million years ago has a shoe print on it. The schoolteacher discovered the fossil on Red Mountain in Urumqi City in 1997.

The shoe print is on a slate rock and measures approximately 10 inches. It is clearly a shoe print. On the heel portion of the shoe print, there is a prehistoric codfish fossil about five.

The Meister Print In 1968, William J. Meister discovered what is now called the "Meister Print." The print appears to have been made by someone wearing some type of primitive shoe or sandal. This sandal print was discovered by Meister during a fossil hunting expedition to Antelope Spring, Utah.
