I've always heard the joke that if you can't afford a BMW new, you definitely can't afford it used:) And also, the reason I'm considering BMW is that Audi is just a fancy VW, and Mercedes is for old people. Porsche would be nice but they get really expensive really fast. I recently bought an approved used 1 series and negotiated a two year warranty and put the lowest amount on hp to get the additional £700 put in by bmw and then I paid it off after the first payment.

You can pay for the BMW comprehensive warranty to cover the Cazoo car at £675 per year but even that doesn't offer quite the coverage you get buying approved used. Personally I've brought a couple of 1 series via the approved used route and I've been really pleased with the results. You do pay a little more than maybe from other trade routes but for me the reassurance and the service to date it's all been worth it.

I was primarily looking at Honda's but since used cars are so expensive right now it's almost like buying a luxury car is the same price. I've found a couple really nice 2009 BMW series 3 328i (one for 7,200 with 84k miles and one for 8,800 with 77k miles but it that one has some other extra features as well). Approved used? Hi everyone.

I will be looking to buy my first BMW in the next two months or so. I'm looking at 3 series touring or GT or a 5 series touring in the uk. Budget will be up to £14k.

My question is should I just go for BMW approved used to lessen the risk of picking up a lemon? This sub-reddit is dedicated to everything related to BMW vehicles, tuning, racing, and more. That's also something to watch out for when shopping for a used BMW. BMW squeezes more out of engines and suspensions than most other traditional manufactures, specifically in terms of power, emissions (for the generated power) and overall driving dynamics. In my experience you can expect zero negotiation on the headline price for an approved used BMW, but you may be able to get an MOT on it given it's only two months away.
