Sadly, the official YouTube TV app only works on Fire TVs, not Fire Tablets. You can find a quick shortcut to the YouTube TV website inside the YouTube app on the Fire TV. Here is how YouTube TV describes the service: Cable.

If I minimize the app so the video can play in the corner, it stops playing. Other video apps from Play Store work fine. Anyone else have this issue or fix?

You can also use Silk browser to stream YouTube on your Fire Tablet. This app is not available for Fire Tablets. You will need to watch YouTube TV on another device.

Also has an awesome screen. It does take a few steps to install the Google Play store on it, but, once you're done, you should be able to install Youtube TV onto the device. I've personally used Youtube TV on my Amazon Fire HD 10 for a while now, and really like the experience.

hey @Adamhuskergal as of right now, youtube and youtube tv are not available on the amazon app store for fire tablets. there really isnt a work around. hopefully one day those apps will be available though because alot of ppl are switching.
