Hi All, I have a new-ish house, built approx 14 years ago which has the following type of flooring upstairs. Currently carrying out a bathroom renovation and I've taken out the existing shower which was way too small and replacing it with a floor level shower base. My question is relating to routing the waste pipe under the floorboards from its current position, I'm wondering whats going to be.

Existing shower has a deep shower tray raised off the floor, and the shower waste is boxed in to one side of the room and exits into a strap. I'm just about to run my previously exposed sink feeds and waste pipe into the wall cavity.

I notice the horizontal part of the waste pipe that runs a couple of meters and joins the bath waste and goes outside, it just lies on the floor. Does it need to have a drop so the water drains outside. My bathroom is long and narrow.

I would ideally like my shower tray on a mortar bed rather than a riser kit, however my waste pipe runs out the house above the floorboards. I will be removing the floorboards in the shower area and replacing with a single piece of 18mm marine ply.
