Bathroom Fan Vent On Wrong Side

I am not much of a DIY'er in home improvement, but thought a simple bathroom ceiling fan replacement should be easy enough. I've got the old fan out only to find that the duct connector location on the new fan is on the opposite side. I've done a Google image search on fans and it looks like the duct location is pretty standard.
