The Merriam Turkey is a class 1 species of Turkey introduced with the release of Silver Ridge Peaks.
It also dwells in Te Awaroa National Park and was retroactively added to Layton Lake District. It is the first of 3 turkey species in game. The other turkey species include the Rio Grande Turkey and the Eastern Wild Turkey.
The Eastern Wild Turkey is a species introduced in the Mississippi Acres Preserve and also dwells on New England Mountains. It is the third subspecies of Wild Turkey released in-game. The others being the Merriam Turkey, and the Rio Grande Turkey.

Neither of them are terribly consistent at getting a turkey to show, but I can consistently get gold/silvers almost every single time one does show itself. (Using the hard / polymer rounds and the 22) I haven't tried the decoys yet, but because the duck decoys I have haven't impressed me yet.

(22LR). The crow caller is very effective to localize the bird in the forest. February 23, 2023 -I believe the only furs that qualify as being rare at this point in time are Albino, Mel and Piebald.

Sometimes animals will just cross through these zones, so if you're hunting turkey, remember how all this works, and manage your zones accordingly.
