Bath In Bedroom Mumsnet

Looking at some hotels for a weekend away. Who on earth thinks that having a bath in a bedroom is a good idea? Is it some sort of romantic ideal, like a bubble bath advert? As a big fan of wallowing in the bath, I like to do it in the bathroom, on my own. Not when my DH is lying on the bed watching the TV in front of me.

Has anyone ever done this, thinking about having a slipper bath installed into the far end of a big bedroom, how easy is it bearing in mind there's not really any plumbing near by? It's a free-standing roll-top bath on a sort of raised separate side of the room, along with a shower cubicle. No wall between the bathroom and bedroo.

We have a downstairs toilet. Currently thinking of turning our upstairs bathroom into a bedroom and converting the study room into a compact shower room. Any ideas?

It's a no from me but they are so popular I fear I am in the minority. If I really want to 'get it on' in a bathtub, I'm happy to do it in the bathroom rather than splash water all over a bedroom that, I assume, has carpet? I generally like en suite bathrooms, but to gain the space would involve upsetting the proportions of the bedrooms.

I was, therefore, thinking it might be nice to have a free standing bath in one of the bedrooms, and maybe a shower in one of the others. I would like something attractive and tasteful (Georgian house). I know.

Its not a real AIBU, but this but gives a poll I want to get rid of the bath and put in a shower, hubby wants to keep bath saying a 3 bed fam.
