Indoor Calla Lily Plant Care: Thrive with These Essential Tips

Calla lilies bring elegant beauty indoors, but their care requires attention to light, water, and humidity—master these, and your plants will flourish with stunning flowers.

Optimal Light and Temperature Conditions

For best indoor performance, place calla lilies in bright, indirect sunlight—near an east- or north-facing window works best. Avoid harsh afternoon rays that cause leaf scorch. Maintain temperatures between 65°F and 75°F (18‒4°C) and keep humidity moderate with occasional misting or a pebble tray to prevent dryness.

Watering and Soil Management

Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring excess drains freely to avoid root rot. Use well-draining potting mix enriched with organic matter; repot annually in spring to refresh nutrients and support growth. Always check soil moisture to prevent overwatering.

Fertilizing and Blooming Tips

Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength to encourage strong stems and vibrant blooms. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to stimulate new growth and extend flowering. With consistent care, your indoor calla lily will reward you with elegant, long-lasting blossoms.

With the right light, watering, and nutrient care, indoor calla lilies become a stunning focal point in your home. Start today—your blooms will thrive and inspire all season long.
